About me: When entering MIPT, I faced a difficult choice whether to go for applied mathematics or biophysics.Eventually, I chose biophysics, because I was always interested in mechanisms of the human brain activity (exactly human, mice did not interest me much...). On seeing the announcement at the dean's office (yes, there used to be announcements!), that the Laboratory of Human Cellular Neurophysiology was looking for students for graduate projects, I went on introductory tour and immediately fell in love with spikes ("music" of the brain). As a result, all my dreams (to do science, to study the human brain, to use the math approaches) were realized in one place - in our Laboratory.
